Beach Time

The kids and I enjoyed a lazy day today while Jack worked.  We ate a leisurely breakfast, organized the room, and then wandered to the beach.

It looks hazy but my camera lens was just foggy.

The hotel has buckets and other sand toys to borrow.

Owyn built a mote that filled with water when the waves
came up enough.  Then he jumped in the waves for a bit.

We left the beach in time to check out the daily activity for kids.  Today's activity was a ring toss game.  They each got a few turns to play, and then they were given a certificate good for a drink at the hotel pool bar.  We decided to swim in the pool just as an afternoon rainstorm started.  Owyn was thrilled!  He wanted to swim so badly, and the water slide was open, so he jumped in the pool.  He ended up meeting a couple brothers from Minnesota, Sam and Jack, who he had fun sliding and swimming with for a couple hours.  In the pouring rain for most of that time.

I tried to talk Owyn into leaving the pool to which he replied, "Mom, no!  They let you break all the rules here.  We never get to swim in the rain at home!"  And he's right, we don't.  Usually because rain at home is accompanied by thunder and lightening, neither of which was present today.  Rain here comes in trickles or sheets, and then passes just as quickly as it began.  Hopefully tomorrow will be more on the sunny rather than rainy side.
