Visiting the Fire Station

Iowa City's newest fire station was built near our house.  We have been driving by it and watching the progress for over a year.  Although it officially opened earlier this fall, the ceremonial ribbon cutting and open house was today, and we were able to tour the station.  Owyn has been waiting for this day since that fire station was no more than a cleared lot on the corner.  He was so excited to finally go inside, see every corner of it, and sit in the big trucks!

Owyn thought the TV room with "big comfy chairs" was cool.

He liked sitting in the fire engines the best!

And he tried nearly every seat of all three trucks.
