Jack is part of a group that volunteers once a month at the local free lunch. Because Owyn didn't have school today, he was available to go with Jack and help with the lunch clean up. Owyn did it once
last year and LOVED it, so we definitely wanted him to have the opportunity again. Unlike last year when it was a new experience and he didn't know what to expect, this year Owyn knew exactly what jobs he wanted to help with and he was anxious to get in there and get started!
Today, Owyn told me he helped with the following jobs:
1. Cleared salt and pepper shakers from the tables
2. Wiped tables
3. Took "plates and forks and spoons" back to the "washing thing" (dishwasher)
4. Stacked chairs
He once again had a great time helping others, and he looks forward to December when it looks like the dates will again match up for Owyn to have no school and a chance to volunteer at the free lunch.
