Owyn has been very interested in tennis, and he has been asking for a few weeks if he can get a racket and play tennis. So we found a tennis camp for 4 and 5 year olds through the University of Iowa Recreation Department, and he attended a 4-day camp this week.
He LOVED it!!
They played outside for 2 days, and then the rain forced them to the indoor court for 2 days. Owyn learned how to hold his racket, forehand and backhand shots, and how to volley. Each day they played a game, coaches vs. students, where the students got one point if they made contact with the ball and two points if they hit it over the net. The students won every game in the four days, and Owyn was very proud of that fact!
On the first day, the coach warned them "I've never lost a game so watch out!" To which Owyn replied, "Well I've never lost a game so YOU watch out!"
What he lacks in skill he definitely makes up for in confidence!
