Some mornings, I used them as a bribe so Zoee would get in the stroller to walk Owyn to school in time for the bell. Some mornings, I saw them as a perk to my working half time. They were a secret treat for me and Zoee on our quiet mornings together. Some mornings, if she was lucky, her friend Dennis, an older gentleman who works at the gas station, would save her the last cinnamon roll before someone else could buy it. Today was such a day. After dropping Owyn off at school, Zoee and I walked up to Dan's to spend the 30 minutes we needed to waste before we had to be back at school for a presentation in Owyn's classroom. And, as luck would have it, Zoee got the last cinnamon roll of the day.
She savored every bite!
