We took the kids downtown this evening to view the Annular Solar Eclipse. Some friends of ours had gotten a filter, a small piece of special glass, that made it safe to look at the sun during an eclipse. They were going to watch the eclipse from the Old Capitol so we decided to join them to witness this event. Looking through the filter made the sun appear a greenish color, and over time you could see the darkening corner that was the moon passing between the Earth and the Sun.
Owyn and Zoee both did a great job being patient while we waited, and they both held the filter and looked at the sun.
