You're Gonna Love It At Adventureland!

We made our first trip as a family to Adventureland in Des Moines today.  We went with my mom, my sister, and her two kids.  The weather was rainy on the way up there, but then perfect and a bit overcast for the day.  Everyone had a blast!

Owyn tried 3 new roller coasters, and we lost count of how many times he went on each one.  He LOVED them!  He was a little nervous to try "the Dragon", the roller coaster that went upside down, but he did it!  When he came off the first time, his eyes were wide and he said "I loved it!"  So I went with him the next time.  Halfway through he yelled to me, "Do you love it?" To which I replied with a yell, "NO!"  He went with his dad countless times after that.

Zoee loved the train that went through the whole park, the ladybugs, and the carousel ride.  She also went, surprisingly, on a balloon ride that left me more than a little dizzy but she had a great time on it.

It was fun to spend the day away with my family, to forget about all the worries we have in daily life, and to just have fun with the kids.  I think it will be on our list of things to do again in the future.

Zoee refused to look at the camera or smile.

Owyn could not wait to ride the "ski lift" above the park.

Zoee found the carousel while the others rode the sky ride.

Alex got Grandma on the sky ride!

McKenzie got a dog, Lovey, on a leash....

So Zoee had to get a dog, Lovey, on a leash.

All but me, Zoee, and Grandma rode the Raging River...

...and they were soaked!

Zoee had a great nap with the two dogs watching over her.

Zoee loved the ladybug ride.

The much anticipated train ride through the park!
