Zoee's 4th Birthday - Part 3

Now that Zoee is in preschool, she was able to have her first party inviting FRIENDS that she met all on her own. 

Zoee decided she wanted a Princess party so I set to work planning her big event.  She invited the girls in her Regina preschool class, and we ended up with 5 guests this afternoon - Reese, Nora, Anne, Alina, and Anya.  We reserved a room at the Iowa City Recreation Center that was perfect for princess games and cupcakes.

Upon arrival, every girl selected a princess dress to wear for the party.  Zoee thought it would be fun to also trade dresses so several girls changed dresses throughout the party. Luckily we had eight Disney Princess dresses to wear because I purchased all of them the morning after Halloween when they were half-price costumes.  After putting on a dress, they decorated a crown to wear.

Next, we played "Pin the Crown on the Princess".

And then they all got blue magic wands.

Pass the Bracelet was up next...

We played music and they passed a bracelet.

got to wear the bracelet.  Then we started again.

Playing games made everyone thirsty so it was time for juice and cupcakes.  Zoee wanted chocolate cake with chocolate frosting, but I talked her into also having white cake with white frosting.  So we had both!

The final party event?  Zoee really wanted a pinata for her birthday party.  We went to Hobby Lobby last week to see what pinatas they had available.  I liked the little tiara, but Zoee wanted the HUGE castle.  I think my exact words were "Absolutely not" to the castle, but Zoee came right back with "Wait a minute, wait a minute.  I think I know just the one!"  She pointed way up to the top shelf at the treasure chest.  "Princesses have jewels so they need a treasure chest" she explained. 

The treasure chest was a big hit at the party.  We let each girl use the bat to try breaking it, but that didn't work.  So each girl got two turns to pull the strings at the bottom.  The final string, which was stuck on there very solidly, pulled out the bottom.  The girls swooped in for jewel rings, glow bracelets, princess notepads and stickers, pens, chocolate gold coins, and ring pops. 

Note that Zoee is now Princess Cinderella.

We closed out the party with a princess story from one of Zoee's new books.

Zoee got a new Play-Doh princess maker from her friend, Reese, and she was so excited to play with it as soon as she got home.

We had a wonderful party today with Zoee and her friends.  I think they all had fun too.
