I went to the Regina Gala back in February and bid on a package from the Iowa Children's Museum that included tickets to the American Girl Fashion Show. Zoee has a Bitty Baby from American Girl, and McKenzie has "Emily" from American Girl. I justified my bid by saying that the tickets would be McKenzie's birthday present since the show would be the weekend before her birthday (April 24th). The gift basket came with two tickets, two American Girl t-shirts, two bracelets, and sets of hair clips. My mom, Sarah, and I purchased extra tickets so that the five of us could go together to this fun event.
I gave McKenzie her ticket, shirt, and hair clips when we celebrated Easter...
And today was the day we went to the show! Zoee and McKenzie wore their matching "American Girl Fashion Show" shirts that came with the tickets, and they each brought their American Girl dolls with them. The event benefits the Children's Museum, and they put on a wonderful show. Local girls modeled clothing from American Girl while two girls narrated different periods of history and what girls would have worn during each period. During the intermission, we were treated to sandwiches, fruit cups, cookies and lemonade. McKenzie also got to have her doll's hair done by real stylists, and we put our names in a drawing for American Girl merchandise to be given away later in the weekend. As we left, the girls were each given a bag with American Girl paper dolls to dress.
