Happy St. Patrick's Day from New York City! We spent last night in New Jersey, and caught the train this morning into Manhattan. We are staying at a Wingate hotel in Midtown which is right by Penn Station. It was very convenient to bring the train to the city, and less stressful as well as cheaper. It was so nice to arrive, drop our bags at the hotel, and head straight to a museum.
We have never been to the
Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum before, and were excited about seeing something new this trip. The museum is actually housed on the USS Intrepid, a decommissioned aircraft carrier. Jack was hoping to see the recently opened Space Shuttle Enterprise, but the exhibit was damaged during Hurricane Sandy and will not reopen until summer. We did get to tour a submarine (the Growler), sit in several helicopters and other aircraft, see many jets and military crafts on the deck, touch large anti-aircraft guns, and try many hands-on activities related to sea, air, and space work.

Zoee's favorite part - "Being outside and looking at the ocean." (really the Hudson River)
Owyn's favorite part - "walking around the outside and seeing stuff."
